The decisions you make today will have an everlasting effect on you and your family tomorrow.
The Army Benefits Center - Civilian (ABC-C) is committed to helping guide and assist you throughout the benefits decision-making process. This Information Tool Kit is designed specifically with you in mind.
Here are a few key tips:
Health Insurance (FEHB) - You can enroll within 60 days of your entry on duty date (enroll through GRB Platform, accessed via the GRB icon on the ABC-C homepage).
Life Insurance (FEGLI) - You are automatically covered under the Basic option and have 60 days from your entry on duty date to enroll in additional, optional coverage (enroll through GRB Platform, accessed via the GRB icon on the ABC-C homepage).
Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) - If you are covered under a FERS retirement plan, you are automatically contributing 5% of your salary to TSP and may change your contribution amount/percentage at any time (enroll through GRB Platform, accessed via the GRB icon on the ABC-C homepage).
Retirement - You are automatically covered if in an approved position.
Federal Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) - You can enroll within 60 days of entry on duty date (enroll through BENEFEDS at www.benefeds.com). You have ONE opportunity to enroll in dental insurance and ONE opportunity to enroll in vision insurance. You cannot make multiple changes within the 60 day window.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - You can enroll within 60 days of your entry on duty date (enroll with FSAFEDS at www.fsafeds.com).

Don't delay in enrolling in your benefits, you only have 60 days from your Entry on Duty (EOD) into a covered position.
