Our Mission
The military considers the welfare of Soldiers and their families to be one of its most important endeavors. In addition to the healthcare, retirement, education and extra-curricular opportunities the Army provides, it goes to great lengths to assure each Soldier and family has adequate housing.

How to Get Reimbursed
- STEP 1
Get Approved
The Army Housing Services Office issues your individual TLA Approval Memo for authorized members and command-sponsored dependents.
- STEP 2
Submit Your Claim
Bring your TLA Memo and all supporting documents directly to Building 750, Room 103.
Who Is Eligible?
Authorized Service members and their command-sponsored dependents who reside in an affected community under the Garrison Commander’s signed memo distributed by Island Palms Communities (IPC).
Required Documents
Email the following documents to the Housing Office (as applicable):
- PCS Orders & Amendments: Must verify command sponsorship.
- Birth Certificate: For any dependent born on island not listed on PCS orders.
- Command Sponsorship Memo: For dependents sponsored after arrival to USAG Hawaii.
- Power of Attorney (POA): Required if someone other than the Service member submits paperwork.
Lodging & Pay Requirements
- Authorized Rates: Lodging must remain within the authorized TLA rate. Service members are responsible for any costs above that rate.
- OCOLA Verification: Finance verifies Overseas Cost of Living Allowance (OCOLA) in your pay account prior to reimbursement.
- Dependent Coverage: TLA will not pay for dependents without active OCOLA on file. Contact your Unit S1 immediately for OCOLA corrections.
