Multi-Functional Hammer
STATUS: PROTOTYPE IN PROGRESS
101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldiers and Vanderbilt University partnered to develop a multi-functional, curved-claw 3-pound hammer for staking and stake extraction. The distinguishing feature of this solution is the claw, which was designed to hook under a variety of tent stakes for rapid stake extraction. This innovative design reduces delays in mobility due to stake removal, injury, and damage to camo net anchor points.
SubT Training Jig
STATUS: PROTOTYPE IN PROGRESS
1st Lt. Matthew Silva designed a training jig that enables more realistic subterranean (SubT) breaching training. The jig is designed to hold replaceable plates that can be used for exothermic breaching tools in a SubT training environment.
