Today, Jan. 6, at 1 p.m., the Emergency Operations Center will test Fort Campbell’s Outdoor Sirens, also known as the Giant Voice. The sirens may sound multiple times. Fort Campbell announces completion of work to Gate 7 and Ripcord Road

The projects to repair Gate 7 and Ripcord Road are completed and Gate 7 operations will resume at 5 a.m. on Jan. 5, 2026. “As we welcome the New Year, the Directorate of Emergency Services and the Directorate of Public Works are pleased to announce the reopening of Gate 7 and Ripcord Road on Jan. 5, 2026,” stated Matthew Brackett, DPW Director. “We want to extend our sincere gratitude for your patience and understanding during these crucial infrastructure projects. These improvements were necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability of Fort Campbell's Gate 7 and Ripcord roadway network. We ask all travelers to be mindful of a few traffic pattern changes and new speed tables installation. Please proceed with caution as you become familiar with the new layouts. Thank you again for your cooperation. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable holiday season.” Commercial vehicle traffic, including food trucks; school buses bringing athletes from schools off-post to compete in sporting events on Fort Campbell; and RVs and campers will resume using Gate 7. The Gate 7 Visitor Control Center will be open to commercial traffic only from 5 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday to Friday. From 1 - 9 p.m. Monday to Friday and all-day Saturday and Sunday, commercial traffic will proceed directly to the Gate 7 Visitor Control Center Commercial Vehicle Lane. The Commercial Vehicle Lane will be open from 5 a.m. - 9 p.m. All other visitors should proceed to the TC Freeman (Gate 4) Visitor Control center or visit https://pass.aie.army.mil to obtain a visitors pass. Active Vehicle Barrier (AVB) quarterly services on Dec. 29 will impact Gates 4 and 10

Gate 4 (TC Freeman): Will be CLOSED on Dec 29 from 7 P.M. until complete for AVB system maintenance. Gate 3 will be open during the closure. After hours visitor passes may be obtained from the Gate 4 Visitor Control Center during the closure. Gate 10: Traffic will be reduced to one lane for in/outbound lanes on Dec 29, from 5 P.M. until complete, for AVB maintenance. Please be patient during these maintenance times and plan your commutes accordingly.

DRAFT PROGRAMMATIC ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT: WEAPONS MODERNIZATION FIELDING AT FORT CAMPBELL - The United States Army and Fort Campbell have prepared a Draft Programmatic Environmental Assessment (PEA) for Weapons Modernization Fielding at Fort Campbell. The PEA has been prepared to facilitate compliance with the National Environmental Compliance Act (NEPA) for the stationing, fielding, and maintaining of up to six additional weapon systems developed as part of the Army Modernization Strategy (AMS) at Fort Campbell. The Draft PEA has resulted in a Draft Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). The documents are based on the thorough review of the purpose and need and the potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts. Both documents are available for public review and comment on Fort Campbell’s Environmental website, https://home.army.mil/campbell/index.php/about/Garrison/dpw/environmental in the Public Review Documents link. Interested persons can also request a mailed or emailed copy using the email or physical addresses below. The public is encouraged to review and comment on these documents.
