MEASLES UPDATE, APRIL 17, 2025:
Readiness Starts with Protection: Stay Ahead of Measles
Fort Bliss remains vigilant and proactive in safeguarding the health of our military families and community. While all installation events and facilities remain open and operational, we want to remind everyone:
- Vaccination is your best defense — The MMR vaccine is safe and 97% effective against measles. Schedule your MMR vaccine if you haven’t already.
- If you or your family members are not vaccinated, please be aware: you may be at higher risk for illness and transmission. We urge you to take extra precautions, monitor for symptoms, and speak to your primary care provider about your options. If you or your family members are not vaccinated, you may also want to consider not attending large public gatherings for the near future (such as upcoming community/MWR Easter events).
- Stay home if you’re feeling unwell. If you or your family member is experiencing measles symptoms, please call your primary care provider for care.
- Health protection is mission readiness — A strong, healthy force is a formidable force. Every step we take to prevent illness strengthens our ability to serve.
Together, we protect the mission — and each other.
