ROAD CLOSURE: NMCR A/F506, Sep. 14, 2024, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Here's some news from the Fort Bliss Range Control folks concerning Road Closures during an upcoming Live Weapons Training:
NMCR A/F506 will be closed from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sep. 14, 2024.
Some notes to remember during these closures:
- Safety Officer at check points will still allow travel across if there is a break in firing, where the travel time will not interfere with the live training.
- Please cooperate with the Safety Officer and provide information requested as it is for safety.
AUG. 30 UPDATE: TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ROAD WORK
Incoming news (Aug. 30) from the Texas Department of Transportation that could affect your travel to or from Fort Bliss and McGregor Range:
- US-54 at State Line Project, Sep. 2 - 6, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m., US-54 south- and northbound from State Line Road reduced to one lane. Crews will be working demolition and preparation of the new turnaround of side shoulders.
- Sep. 5, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m., Gateway South southbound between Broaddus and Fred Wilson right lane closed to Ft. Bliss entrance. Crews will be working on guardrail.
- Maintenance, Sep. 3 - 6, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Spur 601 westbound between Chaffee and Loop 375 shoulder closed. Crews will be working on shoulder.
- Purple Heart Widening Project: Sep. 6 - 13, Daily, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Purple Heart Highway (SL 375) northbound left lane closure from Montana Avenue to Iron Medics Drive. Crews will be paving in median.
- Purple Heart Loop 375 Widening: Continuous closure until further notice, Purple Heart Highway north- and southbound shoulder closures from Montana Avenue to Spur 601. Crews will be widening main lanes and constructing north- and southbound frontage road. Please follow the detour signs in place on all projects. All work is dependent upon weather conditions.

UPDATE: ID CARD OFFICE OFFERS SATURDAY HOURS
The DEERS and ID Cards Office, located at the Soldier Support Center in Building 505 on Pershing Road, is extending our hours on the first Saturday of every month.
- Office hours for the days mentioned above are 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.
- These services are open for everyone, Soldiers, dependents, retirees, contractors, etc.,
- Appointments are highly encouraged, however walk-ins will be taken as time permits, appointments have priority.
Appointments must be made through the website at https://idco.dmdc.osd.mil/idco/. Unfortunately, we are unable to schedule the appointments in the office. Please go to this site to schedule appointments.
Our regular hours are still in effect, which are Monday - Wednesday and Friday, 6:45 a.m. – 3 p.m.; and Thursday 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

RANDOM INSPECTIONS LEADING INTO NON-CONTIGUOUS HOUSING AREAS
Fort Bliss Military Police are conducting security checkpoints in the Hayes, Beaumont, Lindquist, Logan Heights, and Paso del Norte housing areas.
These checkpoints occur at various times and locations and are part of our random antiterrorism and security measures.
Motorists and pedestrians will be asked to provide valid forms of identification; those without DoD ID cards will be politely asked their purpose for being in the area.
DES kindly asks that housing tenants cooperate with this initiative; these actions are intended to deter crime and increase safety and security for our residents and their property.
SAFETY REMINDERS
‒ LEASHES: Dogs must be completely under control at all times in public areas (exception for dog parks). * Pets must not be left tied and unattended, or leashed and allowed to roam freely anywhere outside of a fenced area. (Garrison Policy 24, para 4(d)(6))
‒ HELMETS WILL BE WORN by all Soldiers, DoD Civilians, Contractors, and Family members who operate or intend to operate bicycles or recreational vehicles within Fort Bliss. * Bicycles and recreational play vehicles include inline skates, roller skates, scooters, skateboards, etc. (FB REG 385-10, para 9-9)
‒ STOP SIGNS AT ACPs: All patrons entering through Fort Bliss Access Control Points must adhere to Stop Signs and wait until called forward by ACP personnel to ensure safety and security.
