Update to East Bliss Gates:

As many of you may be aware, Silvestre Reyes Gate was severely impacted by recent high winds which effectively destroyed the structure overtop the gate. Therefore, we need to completely dismantle the current structure starting next week and rebuild it.

As a result, starting the morning of Monday, May 5, Reyes Gate will close, and will remain closed for repairs for the next few months, tentatively until this Fall.

To help better accommodate the East Bliss traffic flow during this period, CSM Barreras Gate will reopen Monday, May 5 and will remain open (24/7) throughout this period until Reyes Gate is fully functional again.

We coordinated with TxDOT to delay the planned construction in the vicinity of Barreras Gate until after Reyes Gate is open again.

The current anticipated time to complete the Reyes Gate rebuild is the fall of 2025, however we are exploring any options to complete it sooner.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this weather-related damage. We thank you sincerely for your patience and understanding.

TXDOT RAMP CLOSURES AT IRON MEDICS/LOOP 375

Texas Department of Transportation (El Paso) will close the Iron Medics Ramps entering and exiting Loop 375 over the next few months.

Reco: Use Espinoza Gate (off Constitution Exit on Spur 601) to access/leave WBAMC during this time period.

RANDOM INSPECTIONS LEADING INTO NON-CONTIGUOUS HOUSING AREAS

Fort Bliss Military Police are conducting security checkpoints in the Hayes, Beaumont, Lindquist, Logan Heights, and Paso del Norte housing areas.

These checkpoints occur at various times and locations and are part of our random antiterrorism and security measures.

Motorists and pedestrians will be asked to provide valid forms of identification; those without DoD ID cards will be politely asked their purpose for being in the area.

DES kindly asks that housing tenants cooperate with this initiative; these actions are intended to deter crime and increase safety and security for our residents and their property.

    SAFETY REMINDERS

‒ LEASHES: Dogs must be completely under control at all times in public areas (exception for dog parks).                                                                                                                                                                   * Pets must not be left tied and unattended, or leashed and allowed to roam freely anywhere outside of a fenced area. (Garrison Policy 24, para 4(d)(6))
