Our office assists clients with case types identified in AR 27-3, including the following matters:

Eligibility for Legal Assistance: In accordance with AR 27-3, the APG Legal Assistance Office is only authorized to provide legal services to eligible individuals. Generally, Legal Assistance services are available to:

  • Active-Duty Service Members
  • Retired Service Members
  • Dependents of Active-Duty Servicemembers or Retirees

Walk-in Services: The Legal Assistance office holds walk-in hours on a first come, first served basis Tuesday mornings between 0900 and 1200. Clients should plan to arrive by 0900 for sign-in.

Note: Wills and Estate Planning Services are not offered during walk-in hours.

Notary and Power of Attorney Services:

Our office offers Notary and Power of Attorney services to eligible clients. No appointment is required during normal office hours for these services.

Due to legal restrictions, we are unable to perform Notary services for Real Estate Closing documents and Real Estate titling documents.

Note: If you arrive during Tuesday walk-in hours you may experience longer wait times.

Criminal Defense &Court Matters:

If you are a Soldier in need of criminal defense, please contact the Ft. Meade Trial Defense Services (TDS) Office at: (301) 677-9218.

If you missed or need to reschedule your Magistrate Court date, please contact the Central Violations Bureau (CVB) Magistrate Court – APG via phone at 1-800-827-2982 or 410-962-2705 or via e-mail at mdd_btickets@mdd.uscourts.gov.
