IMCOM - Europe Fire and Emergency Services Regional Training Center

USAG Ansbach is home to the Installation Management Command Europe Fire and Emergency Services Regional Training Center, the only one of its kind in the European theater.

Representatives of Emergency Services Directorates and Fire Chiefs from garrisons across IMCOM-Europe meet regularly at the center to plan training and take part in/observe certification training of U.S. and German firefighters.

The center is designed for hands-on training and academic instruction. Visitors take part in training opportunities, observe and refresh their firefighting and rescue skills in a variety of training scenarios including fire ground operations, breaching and rescue operations, equipment maintenance, hazardous materials response and emergency communications procedures.

The center also has IMCOM-Europe's only Fire Scenario Simulator, capable of creating an array of realistic, digital emergency situations to train firefighters and emergency personnel on almost any situation.

Classes and schedules are published and released to the garrisons in an annual training catalog and include fire ground operations, breaching and rescue operations, equipment maintenance, hazardous materials response, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting and emergency communications procedures.

The training center comes under the oversight of the USAG Ansbach Fire Chief and provides environmentally friendly training opportunities in a safe setting that includes basic professional qualification training, recurring proficiency training and specialized training.
