Emergency Management

Located north of New York City in the Hudson Valley, West Point is exposed to a variety of hazards ranging from storms to human-caused threats such as criminal and terrorist acts. The mission of the West Point Installation Emergency Management office is to provide policy oversight and guidance to Installation leadership and base personnel before, during and after emergencies through comprehensive preparedness programs, training, and response coordination.

Build a Kit

Every household should prepare to a kit with enough supplies to maintain for several days. Additional items like medications or pet supplies may be needed depending on the situation.
