The 1st Theater Sustainment Command provides mission command and operational-level sustainment support to Army, Joint, Interagency, and Multinational Forces; sets the theater; and conducts theater security cooperation within the U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) area of responsibility in order to enable unified land operations in support of Combatant Commander directives. We provide sustainment to USCENTCOM and U.S. Army Central (USARCENT) for all U.S. Army forces in the USCENTCOM area of responsibility, to include U.S. Forces-Afghanistan (USFOR-A), Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Iraq, and Task Force Sinai in Egypt. We coordinate with USARCENT to produce military plans, improve relationships and interoperability with partner nations through exercises, and facilitate the seamless transition of joint forces in and out of the theater.

First Army Division East mobilizes, trains, deploys, and demobilizes Reserve Component Forces IAW Combatant Commanders, Department of the Army, and FORSCOM directives. Provides training to Joint, Interagency, Combined, and Active Army Forces as directed. Provide training support to Reserve Component Forces for Contingency Expeditionary Force and Deployment Expeditionary Force requirements.

OUR MISSION: Shape and sustain the strength of the Army Reserve through aggressive retention and transition programs. THE ARMY RESERVE CAREERS DIVISION and its thirteen battalions grow and sustain the strength of the Army Reserve by providing skill-rich operational forces to commanders. Over 1400 Army Reserve Career Counselors, located throughout the United States and its territories, Europe, and in the current Southwest Asian Theater of Operations with Army Central Command, provide Army Reserve Warriors - both prior service and Individual Ready Reserve transfers - to Army Reserve Units. They also conduct re-enlistments, present career progression opportunities and manage accession programs. Twenty-six Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Career Management (CM) Officers and 47 Troop Program Unit (TPU) CM Officers currently provide comprehensive career management to Troop Program Unit (TPU) Officers in order to facilitate career awareness, education requirements, assignment opportunities and career path progression.

The brigade is also responsible for and conducting directed research and development that will enhance Army brand equity and recruiting leads, demonstrate elite Army skills and improve operational force capabilities.
