COL Sean M. Brown
Colonel Sean M. Brown commissioned as an Armor Officer in 1999; he grew up in-and-around various Army installations, but calls St. Louis, Missouri home. COL Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri – Columbia. His other degrees include a Master’s in Leadership, Management, and Defence Studies from the National University of Ireland – Maynooth, and a Master’s in Strategic Studies through the Army War College.
COL Brown’s command assignments include Commander, U.S. Army Garrison-Fort Carson; Commander, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division; Commander, D Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); and Commander, A Troop, 1st Squadron, 32nd Cavalry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
His staff assignments include Command Inspector General for the Iowa National Guard; Deputy J-5 for NATO Rapid Deployable Corps – Greece; XO for 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault); and S-3 and XO for 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
COL Brown has deployed multiple times in support of operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as in support of regional initiatives within the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command.
