OUR GOAL
U.S. Army Garrison-Humphreys manages a variety of official social media platforms and strives to create informative, engaging, supportive communities where we can share information and have conversations.
We will do our best to talk candidly about the topics that are important to you, listen to your feedback, answer your questions, be transparent about sharing information, and provide our perspective.
A COMMUNITY OF RESPECT
To create a positive and engaging environment for the USAG-Humphreys community, we ask all users to treat each other with respect. Bullying and degrading comments regarding race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, political affiliation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.
Users may disagree with an idea and healthy debates are welcome; however, please be respectful toward others and their opinions. Insults, threats, or harassment of USAG-Humphreys page managers, other users, organizations, or employees are prohibited.
USAG-Humphreys will hide or delete comments that are:
- graphic, obscene, explicit, racist, abusive, hateful, vindictive, defamatory, indecent, xenophobic, homophobic, sexist, disgraceful, vulgar, or intended to defame anyone or any organization. We also do not allow comments that threaten or harass, including but not limited to name-calling or personal attacks
- unintelligible, spam, irrelevant, false, misleading, or taunting
- any solicitations (i.e.: asking users to “like” your page, visit your website, sign a petition, contribute to a fundraiser)
- advertisements, prize contests or giveaways. This includes promotion or endorsement of any financial, commercial, or non-governmental agency. Similarly, we do not allow attempts to defame or defraud any financial, commercial, or non-governmental agency.
- political propaganda or announcements from political organizations
- details about an ongoing investigation or legal or administrative proceeding that could prejudice the processes or could interfere with an individual’s rights
- copyrighted or trademarked images or graphics. Imagery posted should be owned by the user
- documents of any kind
- personnel lists, rosters, organization charts or directories
- comments, photos, or videos that suggest or encourage illegal activity
- knowingly instigating arguments/intentionally inflaming emotions of the online community (rabble rousing)
- intentionally attempting to disrupt the flow of command information
- encouraging others to do any of the above
In accordance with the “User Agreement” for all DoD social media sites, USAG-Humphreys reserves the right to block anyone who has violated the guidelines indicated above, without notice.
Even though we discourage such comments, we do not support censorship. USAG-Humphreys admins will send a message to the account that posted the comment, reminding them of the community guidelines and offering them the opportunity to repost their comment without violating the guidelines, in addition to notifying them that their comment has been hidden. Having to constantly be warned of online conduct could result in being blocked.
KEEP IN MIND THAT EVERYTHING IS PUBLIC
Nothing is private when posting or commenting on a public feed/forum. Once “send” is clicked, the post or comment can be indexed and can turn up in search engines even years later. It is important to ensure that you do not say something that you might regret later. Please keep in mind most personnel here are affiliated with military commands, and their chain of commands are active on these platforms.
If you wouldn’t say it in your workspace, you may want to reconsider posting it publicly on a USAG-Humphreys official social media page.
Please be aware that our adversaries also interact on these pages. Keep OPSEC in mind. All information posted to social media sites will be unclassified. No FOUO (for official use only), classified, pre-decisional, proprietary, or business-sensitive information should ever be posted or discussed on this page.
WHEN DO WE RESPOND?
Although we regularly read all messages, posts, and comments, this is not a place to request emergency assistance. If you need emergency assistance, please contact the military police or chaplain nearest to your location.
For all other requests, we try to be as responsive as possible and aim to get back to you in a timely manner.
