Command Sgt. Maj. (CSM) Francisco J. Gonzalez of Yonkers, New York entered the U.S. Army Reserve in October of 2000 and completed Basic Training at Fort Benning, Ga. He completed Technical Engineer Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Upon transition into the AGR program Sgt. Maj. Gonzalez attended the US Army Reserve Career Counselor course at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Upon completion of training, he was assigned to 8th BN, ARCD out of Fort Snelling with assignment to Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
His active and reserve duty assignments include: Technical Engineer Specialist, 411th Engineer Brigade, Newburgh, New York; Technical Engineer Specialist, 63rd Regional Support Group, Moreno Valley, California, Team Sergeant 20th Engineer Brigade, Iraq; Training NCO, 1/334th Training Division, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Platoon Sergeant, 420th Engineer Brigade, Afghanistan; Army Reserve Career Counselor, 8th BN ARCD, Fort Snelling, Minnesota; Area Leader, 1ST BN ARCD, Fort Devens, Massachusetts; Senior Operations NCO, 8th BN ARCD, Fort Snelling, Minnesota; Battalion Sergeant Major, 4th BN, ARCG, Ft. Jackson, South Carolina; and Branch Sergeant Major, HRC-RCT, Ft. Knox, Kentucky.
Command Sgt. Maj. Gonzalez military education includes: Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Leader Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Basic Combatives Course, Tactical Combatives Course, Master Combatives Trainer Course, Common Faculty Development Program, and United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He has earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Applied Mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2013, and a Master’s in Business Administration in Finance from Columbia Southern University in 2018.

Command Sgt. Maj. Gonzalez is also a proud father to his daughter, Aly and husband to his wife, Celina.
