Servicemember Services
Servicemembers will find all of the services they need on Carlisle Barracks to include personnel services, shopping, and health and fitness facilities and programs. Our Soldier For Life experts have a great reputation for helping Soldiers transition, and our Army Community Services are second to none with robust programming that spans from financial assistance to parenting classes. We have numerous opportunities to get after health and fitness as well. Jim Thorpe Gym is a 3-story functional fitness facility that includes CrossFit Stations, rowing machines, TRX stations, free weights, and cardio equipment. You'll find your more traditional free weights and nautilus equipment in Indian Field House. Indian Field is a quarter-mile track with access to pull-up bars and the bleachers for stair work. For runners, there is a 2-mile dirt path around the Golf Course as well as a 1-mile loop around the Army Heritage and Education Center. Both trails are also connected. Soldiers can also lap swim at our outdoor pool, bowl, play tennis and golf and the great facilities on Carlisle Barracks.
For families with kids, Carlisle Barracks is partnered with an excellent school district. Our School Liaison at McConnell Youth Center does outstanding work and is very helpful.
Additionally, for those who are interested in participating in the installation BOSS (Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers) Program, contact the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment at 717-245-3244. BOSS events are a great way to volunteer on post and in the local community, participate in recreational activities, such as snowboarding and kayaking, and to meet other Soldiers on Carlisle Barracks.
