Welcome to Fort Belvoir
The SSG John D Linde Visitor Center issues passes to access the installation. The Visitor Center is located at Tulley Gate, and open Monday–Friday 6:00am to 4:00pm, closed on weekends and Holidays. All individuals (16 yrs of age and older) are required to have an access pass. They must have a valid driver’s license, state identification card, or US Passport. After hours, visitors may still access post by driving underneath the security canopy at Tulley Gate.
REAL ID ACT Implementation
Individuals will need a secondary ID if their state-issued driver's license and identification card is marked, “Not for Federal Identification, Not for Federal Purposes, or Federal Limits May Apply”. If you do not have a secondary ID you will be denied access, or you’ll have to be escorted by a Trusted Traveler. Valid US Passport, Passport Card, and original birth certificate are acceptable forms of secondary identification. Social Security Cards will not be accepted for a secondary form of identification.
Trusted Traveler- Active Duty or Retired US Military ID card holder, military dependent ID card holder (18yrs of age and older), and DoD Civilian CAC card holder. **If you are in a vehicle with a Trusted Traveler you do not have to process through the Visitor Center for a pass.
Foreign Visitors- Foreign visitors accessing the installation for Official Business or representing their Country must be cleared through Fort Belvoir DPTMS Security (703-805-3058). All others will process through the Visitor Center with their passport, and be accompanied by a Trusted Traveler. Passport must have a valid Homeland Security stamp.
Commercial Vehicles / Taxi / Uber / Lyft / For Hire Vehicles
Individuals in these types of vehicles will be processed underneath the security canopy at Tulley Gate.
