MWR Eligibility
The following personnel are authorized to use MWR Facilities on Yakima Training Center:
Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard service members
Military Retirees
DoD Civilians
DoD Contractors employed at YTC *
Dependents **
Guests of eligible patrons listed above ***
* DoD contracted employees who work at YTC may use the facilities with manager approval and the signing of a Hold-Harmless Agreement (click here)
** Youth younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Children ages 13-15 must be supervised at all times. Children 12 and under are not authorized to be in the fitness workout areas, use weight machines, or use the sauna.
*** Certain MWR activities and facilities are available to guests of eligible patrons with manager approval and the signing of a Hold-Harmless Agreement (click here)
Blanchard Physical Fitness Center
The Blanchard Physical Fitness Center (Building 502) is home to a full-size indoor basketball and volleyball court, two outdoor tennis courts, outdoor basketball and volleyball courts, male and female saunas, fully supplies weight room, cardio room, functional fitness facility, and individual lockers.
Hours of operation are:
Monday - Friday from 0530-2000
Saturday - Sunday from 0800-1530
Additionally, there is a 24/7 access system for permanent party that enables patrons to workout any time they want. To enroll in the 24/7 Access Program, please visit the Blanchard Physical Fitness Center during normal hours of operations.
Patrons wishing to enroll in the 24/7 Access Program must read and sign the Single User Agreement (click here).
Due to the installation of the 24/7 Access System, there are cameras throughout the facility, which records activities at all times.

Outdoor Recreation, Hunting, and Public Access
YTC MWR offers a number of Outdoor Recreational Opportunities (click here) to eligible patrons and the general public.

Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (formerly the John Wayne Trail)
The Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail (formerly the John Wayne Trail) is a recreation trail extending from the Idaho border to the coast of Washington State. A 22-mile stretch of this trail is managed by YTC and is available for non-vehicular activities such as horseback riding, hiking, and mountain biking. Use of the trail must be in compliance with the John Wayne Trail Policy letter (click here).A recreation card is not required to access the trail, but patrons must sign-in at the trailhead kiosk and remain on the trail at all times.
Child Development Center
