Capt. Patrick Nieto, Commander
Capt. Patrick Nieto is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enlisted in the Indiana National Guard in 2011 as a 68W, Healthcare Specialist. He then attended Indiana University where he joined the Bison Battalion ROTC Program. Nieto graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology and Psychology.
Upon entering active duty in 2016, Nieto attended NAVSCHOLEOD graduating in September 2017, where he was assigned to 754th EOD in Fort Drum, New York. He served as a platoon Leader and commander for a total of 20 months then served as a platoon leader/operations officer with their sister company, 760th EOD.
With the 760th EOD, Nieto deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Spartan Sheild. After a total of 20 months at 760th EOD, he attended EOD Captain's Career Course in Fort Lee (known as Fort Gregg-Adams since 2023). Upon graduation he was assigned to 403rd Army Field Support Brigade located in Daegu, South Korea as the Brigade Plans and Exercise Officer. Following his one-year tour in South Korea, Nieto was selected to command 763rd EOD at Fort Leonard Wood.
In his free time, Nieto enjoys competing in triathlons, rock climbing, backpacking, and photography.
1st Sgt. Travis Tucker, 763D 1st Sergeant
1st Sgt. Travis Tucker was born at Fort Carson, Colorado, and was raised in Potosi, Missouri. He enlisted into U.S. Army in 2004 and became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician in July of 2005.
His previous assignments include: EOD Team Member, 754TH Ordnance Company (EOD), Fort Monmouth, NJ; EOD Team Leader, 663D (EOD), Fort Carson, CO; Small Group Leader, EOD Advanced Leaders Course, Fort A.P. Hill, VA (known as Fort Walker since 2023); EOD Platoon Sergeant, 703D (EOD), Fort Knox, KY; Operations Sergeant, 242D Ordnance Battalion (EOD), Strength and Talent Manager, Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, KY.
Tucker deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2006 as an EOD Team Member, and 2010 as an EOD Team Leader. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2016 as a C-IED Advisor ISO Operation Resolute Support. Most recently, he deployed to Kuwait and Afghanistan during 2018-2019 as part of Task Force Hellhound, providing support to Operation Inherent Resolve, Operation Resolute Support, and Operation Spartan Shield.
He has earned a MS in Forensic Science (Oklahoma State University) and a BA in General Studies (American Military University) and lives in Waynesville, Missouri, with his family.
