The West Point Education Center offers a full range of programs and services including Education Guidance Counseling, Army Personnel Testing, BSEP, post-secondary programs and classroom use.
ACES services:
Professional Education Guidance Counseling – Counselors assist Soldiers, Veterans, Family members and Civilians in establishing professional and educational goals and developing education plans. They also help Soldiers to utilize Tuition Assistance (TA) and Credentialing Assistance (CA) benefits through the online TA portal, ArmyIgnitEd. When it comes to Soldiers transitioning to civilian life, counselors also provide counseling on using Veterans' education benefits such as GI Bill and Transfer of Education Benefits to continue their education. Scholarship, grant, financial aid and college information is also available.
Testing – Army Personnel Tests (APT) are available as well as the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE), GT Predictor and Licensing and Certification exams.
Basic Skills Education Program (BSEP) – Also known as Functional Aptitude Skills Training (FAST). This on-duty program provides Soldiers job-related instruction to improve basic educational competencies necessary for job proficiency, advanced schooling, and career progression. BSEP focuses on reading, writing, math, and computer skills Soldiers need on the job as well as for reenlistment and reclassification purposes. Classes are available online or in-person.
Post-Secondary Programs – Postsecondary graduate programs are offered by Long Island University (LIU).
Classrooms – Available for community and Unit use. Classrooms and computer labs available for trainings, briefings, classes and individual computer use. All classrooms have full audio and video capability.
