Southern Company Lineman & Distribution Substation Construction (Apprenticeship) - 3 WEEKS

Georgia Power is the large subsidiary of Southern Company, one of the nation's largest generators of electricity. Georgia Power and Southern Company have consistently been recognized as military-friendly employers. The intent of the program is for transitioning Soldiers to attend training and receive job skills for positions which the company routinely hires.

Home Builder Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Certification Training (Apprenticeship) - 12 WEEKS

HBI is a national501(c)(3)nonprofit organization serving transitioning Soldiers through training,certification and job placement in the construction industry. The intent of the program is for transitioning Soldiers to attend training and receive job skills that will qualify the Soldiers to fill positions available in the construction industry.

Georgia Tech Veterans Education Training& Transition (VET2) (Internship) - 4 WEEKS

GT offers a unique four-week Veterans Education Training and Transition (VET2) program, which consists of one-week of classroom training and a three-week internship with corporate sponsors participating in the Program. The intent of the program is for transitioning Soldiers to attend transition training customized to the corporate sponsor and receive job experience, through internships, for positions available with the corporate sponsors of the program.

Troops into Transportation Commercial Driver Licensure Training (On-the-Job Licensure) - 4 WEEKS

T2TCDLS operates a"full service" commercial driving school offering instruction enabling transitioning Soldiers to obtain a CDL. CDLs communicate directly with major motor carriers and obtains agreements from such carriers to hire Soldiers once they complete the course of instruction and obtain the CDL.

Warrior Training Advancement Course (WARTAC) - 12 WEEKS

WARTAC is a skill-bridge education and employment opportunity. Soldiers are trained to become a Veterans Service Representative (VSR). They have the opportunity to start as a(GS0996-07) and become a (GS0996-10), with employment at a Veterans Benefits Regional Office.

Savannah Technical College/Ingalls Shipbuilding Welding Program - 16 WEEKS

Ingalls Shipbuilding offersa16 weeks training in welding, with no cost for eligible Service Members.Soldiers will earn two welding technical certificates with potential employment opportunities in Pascagoula, MS and Newport News, VA

Service 2 Software - 18 WEEKS

To provide active duty Service Members with the training and tools they need to become self-employed,or employed within the technology sector. Soldiers will receive certifications,hands on training skills and networking with the opportunity for self-employment or employment options in the technology sector.

Ryder Diesel Technician Program - 12 WEEKS

The Training Program will address a spectrum of subjects needed for a technician to be productive in a diesel truck shop environment. Application to truck systems with emphasis on preventive maintenance, diagnosis and repair. The Soldiers found suitable for the program by the Ryder Recruiting and FMS teams will be provided a contingent offer letter of employment at one of the top three relocation choices of the Soldier, or as directed by Ryder.

Veterans Education Career Transition Resource (VECTR)

VECTR offers courses in the following Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) and Associate of Applied Science (AAS) programs through Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC). In an effort to provide flexibility for our veteran population and their families,many of these courses can be completed online. Opportunities available: Cisco Networking, Commercial Truck Driving, Welding & Joining Technology, FAA A&P License Refresher Course and Air Conditioning Technology.
