MISSION: The Administrative Services Division provides oversight, training and guidance for the Document Management Program in record-keeping, Army addresses, correspondence preparation, office symbols, official mail and distribution, forms and Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act requests.
Functions
The Freedom of Information Act is a federal law that establishes the public's right to request existing records from federal government agencies. The FOIA provides for prompt, maximum release of Department of Defense records to the public unless such requested records are specifically exempt from mandatory public disclosure under the FOIA. The Privacy Act of 1974, establishes a Code of Fair Information Practice that governs the collection, maintenance, use and dissemination of personally identifiable information about individuals that is maintained in systems of records by federal agencies.
The U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Military Postal Service operates as an extension of the U.S. Postal Service to bring authorized members of the Baumholder and Kaiserslautern communities the most expeditious and efficient, personal and official mail services possible, comparable to that enjoyed domestically.
