Mr. Fortunato Rubio Jr
Mr. Rubio was raised in Columbus, WI. Upon graduation from high school he entered the United States Marine Corps and completed Basic Training in San Diego, California in 1988. During his military career he was stationed at numerous stateside and overseas locations to include Camp Lejeune, NC, Kaneohe Bay HI, Harrisburg, PA, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ and Tel Aviv, Israel. Mr. Rubio achieved the rank of Sergeant Major during his 25 ½ years in the Marine Corps and held numerous billets that included Sergeant Major of 2ND Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, First Sergeant of Alpha Battery 1st Battalion 10th Marines, First Sergeant of Detachment 2, Communications Company and Detachment 3, Maintenance Motor Transportation Company. Mr. Rubio completed a special billet as a Detachment Commander for the United States Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. Mr. Rubio completed three combat tours that include Operation Desert Storm and Desert Shield (1991), Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003), Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan (2008) and a two year deployment to Tel Aviv, Israel (2005-2007) where he worked for both the United States State Department and United States Marine Corps as head of internal security of the Marine Corps Embassy Guard Force.
Mr. Rubio’s personal decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Combat Action Ribbon and most recently the Army Commanders Award for Civilian Service.
Since retiring from the military in 2014 Mr. Rubio has been employed by United States Army Garrison, Picatinny Arsenal as a Program Support Specialist in the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security; Plans Specialist in the Plans, Analysis and Integration Office; Director of the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security; Director of Operations. Mr. Rubio currently serves as the Deputy to the Garrison Commander.
Mr. Rubio is married to Victoria Rubio and they have five children, Brittany, Sabrina, Nathan, Anthony and Teresa. He also earned his BA in Business Management from Columbia Southern University in 2012. Mr. Rubio is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, archery and trap shooting.
