Welcome to the Fort George G. Meade Construction Information Hub. The Directorate of Public Works (DPW), in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Baltimore District, manages capital improvements, road realignments, and military construction (MILCON) across the installation.
This page consolidates current project statuses, projected completion schedules, and answers to common community questions following joint monthly construction reviews with garrison command leadership.
ACTIVE DRIVING & TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
Cantonment Roundabout: Motorists approaching the newly configured roundabout must yield to traffic already circulating inside the circle, reduce speed, and observe directional lane signs.
Pedestrian Pathways: Newly poured sidewalks along Cooper Avenue, Reece Road, and Rose Street are open for foot traffic. Pedestrians should stay on paved concrete surfaces while newly hydroseeded grass along road shoulders establishes root growth.
York Avenue and Mullins Field: Road rehabilitation is complete. All standard parking lots servicing Mullins Field along Broadfoot Road and York Avenue are open for regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions
Infrastructure projects on Fort Meade receive funding through multiple sources, including Military Construction (MILCON), garrison sustainment budgets, and Intergovernmental Support Agreements (IGSA). Coordinating roadway resurfacing concurrently with major facility builds allows DPW and USACE to upgrade deep underground water and electric utilities before laying new asphalt, preventing the need to dig up newly completed roads later.
No. Final surface pavement has been laid across all segments of Cooper Avenue, Reece Road, and Rose Street, bringing the road level flush with all utility fixtures. If you notice localized settling or uneven road conditions anywhere on post, submit a ticket to the DPW Service Desk.
Yes. All parking lots along Broadfoot Road and adjacent to Mullins Field are open for normal athletic activities, unit physical training, and recreational events.
DPW engineering crews are completing stormwater drainage repairs and upgrading the heavy-duty driving surface behind the exchange complex to handle commercial freight deliveries and prevent standing water issues.
