The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a Federal Law that establishes the public's right to request existing records from Federal Government agencies. The FOIA provides for prompt, maximum release of DoD records to the public unless such requested records are specifically exempt from mandatory public disclosure under the FOIA. . The Privacy Act of 1974, establishes a Code of Fair Information Practice that governs the collection, maintenance, use, and dissemination of personally identifiable information about individuals that is maintained in systems of records by federal agencies.
The Housing Services Office offers a broad array of services for service members, their families and DoD civilians.
The mission of the ID Card/DEERS section is to ensure enrollment of all eligible Department of Defense beneficiaries in the Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) and to provide Common Access Card (CAC) issuance to service members, retirees and their family members as well as to federal civilian employees, and contract employees.
The Office of the Inspector General serves as the eyes, ears, voice and conscience of the Commander. The IG determines the state of discipline, efficiency, economy, morale, training, and readiness throughout the command. It also provides assistance, on an area basis, to Commanders, Soldiers, Family Members, Civilian Employees, Retirees, Contractors and others who seek help with problems related to the U.S. Army, while maintaining confidentiality of all concerned.
The Post Exchange provides Soldiers and Airmen with the services and merchandise they need to make their lives more comfortable. The Exchange also maintains services and support to family members and troops back home. Service members, retirees and their families have the option to visit the Exchange.
Fort Hunter Liggett has been chosen as one of the pilot installations for both Net Zero Energy and Net Zero Waste. The installation has made significant progress in reducing energy use by more than 40%. Our 1 megawatt (MW) solar power system build brings the installation even closer to achieving the Army’s NET ZERO Energy goals.
