Command Sgt. Major Troy E. Buzard
Command Sgt. Maj. (CSM) Troy E. Buzard enlisted in the Army in 1992 as an 88N (Transportation Movement Coordinator) and conducted basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, with Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Eustis, VA.
His first duty assignment was with the 475th Quartermaster Group (QM GRP), Farrell, PA, as a Team Leader and Section Sergeant until he joined the 335th Replacement Battalion (BN) in Butler, PA, in 1995 as a Section Sergeant. He re-classed to the 77L10 (Petroleum Lab
Specialist) specialty in 1995. In 1996, he deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF).
His promotion to Staff Sergeant in 1998 landed him a position as the Petroleum Lab Supervisor to the 247th QM BN in Punxsutawney, PA. He then transferred to the 478th Engineer Company located in Ashland, KY in 2001. He deployed with the 359th Transportation BN located at Fort Eustis, VA in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM (OIF), serving as the BN Transportation NCO from March 2003 through February 2004.
CSM Buzard transferred back to the 475th QM GRP in 2007 and joined the Active Guard Reserve program in July of 2007. He deployed with the 475th QM GRP DET 7 where he served as the Senior Petroleum Laboratory NCO in support of the Central Command (CENTCOM) Joint Petroleum Office throughout the theater of operations for OIF and OEF from December 2009 to November 2010.
In June 2010, CSM Buzard was assigned as the Detachment Sergeant with the 420th Transportation Battalion (Movement Control) located in Los Angeles, CA and deployed to Kuwait from January 2011 to November 2011. His promotion to Master Sgt. transferred him to the 630th Transportation Company located in Washington, PA as the Senior Truck Master. He became the Chief of Training for the Master Leader Course (MLC) at the 83rd United States Army Reserve Training Center located at Fort Knox, KY from April 2017 to July 2018.
CSM Buzard attended the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA) Located in Fort Bliss, TX from August 2018 to June 2019 earning a place on the Commandants List. In July 2019 he was assigned to III Corps located in Fort Hood, TX as the Army Reserve Affairs (ARA) Sgt. Maj. to the Reserve Affairs Director. He was then assigned as the 84th Training Command G3/5/7 Sgt. Maj.

CSM Buzard is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso with a Master of Arts in Leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and is a Certified Manager with the Institute of Certified Professional Managers.
CSM Buzard is married, and they have four children.
