Chief Master Sergeant Christopher M. Clark

Chief Master Sergeant Christopher M. Clark is the superintendent, 627th Air Base Group and serves as the senior enlisted adviser to the Joint Base Lewis-McChord commander. As superintendent, Chief Clark mentors and supports over 700 group Airmen. Additionally, as the principal Air Force senior enlisted adviser to the JBLM commander, he provides integrated Army/Air Force senior staff advice on matters of health, welfare, morale, professional development and the effective utilization of five Army-led directorates, five Air Force squadrons, 32 staff agencies, and more than 800 uniformed personnel and 2,700 Department of Army and Air Force civilians, who deliver a full range of mission support for the joint base, the Indo-Pacific region and other global operations. His leadership throughout the installation impacts more than 243,000 Total Force service members, family members, and retirees supported by JBLM.

Chief Clark attended Big Valley High School and graduated in 1998, entering the Air Force as a Security Forces member immediately following graduation. He was first assigned to the 9th Security Forces Squadron at Beale AFB, California, where he served as Security Response team leader, Protection Level 2 Entry Controller, and Security Forces Vehicles noncommissioned officer in charge. While at Beale, Chief Clark deployed consecutively to Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi and once to Royal Air Force Akrotiri, Cyprus. In 2002, he was selected as a Basic military training Instructor at Lackland AFB, Texas. While assigned to Lackland, he served as a military training instructor at the 323rd Training Squadron where he led 15 basic training flights. Additionally, he served as an instructor at the 37th Training Support Squadron Military Training Instructor School where he developed 32 future MTIs in the ranks of senior airmen through master sergeants.

In 2006, Chief Clark was reassigned to Hill AFB, Utah, where he worked as flight chief, NCOIC of S1, NCOIC of Training, NCOIC of Flight Operations and superintendent of Plans and Programs. During this period, he deployed to Camp Bucca, Iraq, Al Udeid, Qatar, and Bagram Air Base, Afghanistan. In 2011, Chief Clark returned to BMT at Lackland AFB where he served as the Squadron superintendent for the 322nd Training Squadron. Chief Clark returned to Security Forces in 2013 where he served as the Logistics superintendent and the Operations superintendent for the 799th Security Forces Squadron at Creech AFB, Nevada; additionally, in 2015 he was selected to attend the 262nd class of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

In 2016, Chief Clark was selected to attend the 67th class of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas. Upon graduation in 2017, he was assigned as the Security Forces manager for the 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron where he led an integrated total force unit in Ali Al Salem, Kuwait for one year. Following this, Chief Clark was reassigned as the Security Forces manager for the 75th Security Forces Squadron at Hill AFB, where he concluded this tour by deploying to reopen Prince Sultan Airbase, Saudi Arabia. Chief Clark assumed his current position in the fall of 2020.
