Command Sergeant Major Ronald D. Hansen

Command Sergeant Major Ronald D. Hansen, a native of Saipan, enlisted in the U.S. Army in February 2001 and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, graduating as an Infantryman. 

Throughout his 24 years of service, CSM Hansen has held numerous developmental and leadership positions including Team Leader, Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Instructor/Writer, Observer Controller/Trainer (OC/T), First Sergeant, Master Leaders Course Manager, and Command Sergeant Major.  

His previous assignments include 1st Battalion, 23rd  Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; 4th Ranger Training Battalion, Fort Benning, Georgia; 4th Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment (ABCT), Fort Bliss, Texas; 2-357 Infantry Battalion, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; 5th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; and the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence (NCOLCoE), Fort Bliss, Texas. His last duty assignment was with 2d Squadron, 3d Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. He has deployed three times in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. 

CSM Hansen has completed all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development System as well as the Garrison Pre-Command Course, Battalion Pre-Command Course, CSM Development Course, Common Faculty Developer Course and Instructor Course, First Sergeant's Course, Combat Advisor Training Course, Tactical Combat Medical Care, Battle Staff NCO course, Observe Controller Academy, Sling load Inspector Course, Fast Rope Insertion/Extraction System (FRIES) and Special Patrol Insertion/Extraction System (SPIES) course, Tactical Certification Course, Army Basic Instructor Course, Infantry Mortar Leaders Course (IMLC), Jumpmaster Course, Airborne Course, and Ranger Course. He holds an associate’s degree from Pierce College and a bachelor's degree in Leadership and Workforce Development from the Command and General Staff College.  

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters; Army Commendation Medal with six oak leaf clusters; Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters; Joint Meritorious Unit Award; Meritorious Unit Commendation with three oak leaf clusters; Army Superior Unit Award; Good Conduct Medal 8th award; National Defense Service Medal; Iraq Campaign Medal with three bronze stars; Global War on Terrorism Service Medal; Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal; NCOPD Ribbon with numeral five; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 3; Korea Defense Service Medal; Master Combat Infantryman Badge; Parachutists Badge; and Ranger Tab. CSM Hansen is also a recipient of The Order of Saint Maurice and The Order of Saint George.   

CSM Hansen has been married for over 22 years to the former Juvy Masculino of Agat, Guam. They have two children, Ethan (18) and Emma (8).
