Command Sergeant Major David Franks
Command Sergeant Major Franks entered the Army in May 2001 from Kansas City, Missouri as an Administrative Specialist. He attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.
CSM Franks’ assignments include Senior Human Resources Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Special Troops Battalion, and Plans and Operations Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Human Resources, Third United States Army, Fort McPherson, Georgia; Strength Management Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, Human Resources, Third United States Army, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina; Systems Legacy Analysis Noncommissioned Officer in Charge and Senior Enlisted Advisor, Headquarters, Department of the Army Human Resources (Integrated Personnel and Pay System) at the Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia; First Sergeant, Charlotte Military Entrance Processing Station, Charlotte, North Carolina; Chief, Human Resources Sergeant of the Advanced Individual Training Department, Soldier Support Institute, Fort Jackson, South, Carolina; G1 Sergeant Major, Third Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and Garrison Command Sergeant Major, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.
CSM Franks’ deployments include Kuwait; Operations Iraqi Freedom (2009-2010), New Dawn (2012), and Spartan Shield (2021-2022).
CSM Franks’ military education includes all levels of professional military education to include graduating the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 70), Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command Courses/Command Sergeants Major Courses, Battalion and Brigade Command Sergeants Major Development Programs, Garrison Pre-Command Course, United States Army Drill Sergeant Academy, Instructor Course, and Equal Opportunity Leaders Course. CSM Franks holds a Bachelor of Arts in Leadership and Workforce Development from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Management from American Military University.
