Fiera del Soco, or the Zocco Fair, is a historic event held annually in the first half of September, continuing a centuries-old tradition. Its origins date back to 1267, when a votive festival was established to commemorate an apparition of the Virgin Mary in the countryside between Grisignano and Arlesega.
The earliest recorded mention of the fair appears in a 1555 document, which states: “The Soco Fair in Grisignano, part in Padova and part in Vicenza...”. This reference underscores the fair’s longstanding significance as a crossroads—geographically, socially, culturally, and economically. For centuries, Grisignano and its renowned fair have brought people together, strengthening ties between the neighboring territories of Vicenza and Padova and preserving their shared heritage and traditions.
