Army Quality of Life

Quality of Life programs promote the health and well-being of the Army's people, increasing recruiting and retention and reducing overall stress and uncertainty. Increased quality of life for Soldiers, Army civilians, and families is directly tied to increased Army readiness.

DoD Education Activity

DoDEA operates 160 schools in 8 Districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, and 2 territories across 10 time zones.

Army National Guard Bureau Family Program

The Army National Guard's (ARNG) Family Program Web site is intended to be a "one-stop shop" for information on programs, benefits, resources and more for ARNG Families. Learn about Family Readiness, Program Services, and Plans and Operations by clicking on the links provided.

Army Reserve Family Programs Online

The Army Reserve Family Programs Web site introduces Soldiers, Families, friends, employers, and volunteers who support the Army Reserve to news about military life. Related links on this site provide information about Army Reserve Family Programs, MilitaryOneSource.com, myPay, TRICARE, Army Knowledge Online (AKO), Army Family Team Building (AFTB) programs, and a host of other resources.

Armed Services YMCA

The Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) works with the Department of Defense (DoD) to provide support services to military service members and their Families for more than 140 years -- with a focus on junior enlisted men and women. A nonprofit social services agency with branches and affiliates at many major installations in the U.S. -- to include Fort Carson, Colo.; Fort Drum, N.Y.; Forts Gordon and Stewart, Ga.; Fort Riley, Kan.; Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; and Fort Lee, Va. -- ASYMCA offers most of its services for free or for a nominal fee, with a valid military identification card. Some of those programs include childcare, hospital assistance, spouse support services, food services, computer training classes, health and wellness services, and holiday meals, among many others.

USA Cares

USA Cares is a civilian group based in Kentucky that helps military Families with the various problems that may arise during deployments and mobilizations, focusing on helping them through short-term financial crunches. The group also maintains a Call Center, staffed with trained and experienced Family Resource coordinators dedicated to assisting as many Families as they can.

Military Saves 

Military Saves is a social marketing campaign that seeks to persuade, motivate, and encourage military Families to save money every month, and to convince leaders and organizations to be aggressive in promoting automatic savings. A part of two larger campaigns -- the Department of Defense (DoD) Financial Readiness Campaign and the national America Saves campaign -- the Military Saves campaign is a growing network of organizations and individuals committed to helping and supporting military members and their loved ones in building personal savings arsenals that provide for their immediate and long-term financial needs.

U.S. Army Family Child Care (FCC) Program

The U.S. Army Family Child Care (FCC) Program is one childcare option provided to military Family members, Department of Defense civilians (DAC) and Department of Defense (DoD) contractors through the Army Child and Youth Services (CYS). Army FCC Online is an information and referral tool for parents considering using Army FCC as their childcare option. It is web-based and includes both a public section and a password-protected private section. Army FCC Online allows parents and potential patrons an opportunity to take a virtual tour of Army Family Child Care.

Army Emergency Relief (AER)

Army Emergency Relief (AER) is the Army's own emergency financial assistance organization and is dedicated to "Helping the Army Take Care of Its Own." AER provides commanders with a valuable tool to assist them in their basic command responsibility for the morale and welfare of Soldiers and their dependants. AER funds are made available to commanders with AER sections to provide emergency financial assistance to Soldiers - Active and Reserve components, National Guard, and retired -- and their Family members when there is a valid need.

Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) 

The Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, worldwide organization that identifies the challenges that face the highly-mobile military child, increases awareness of these challenges in military and educational communities, and initiates and implements programs to meet those challenges. MCEC's goal is to level the educational playing field for military children wherever they are in the world and to serve as a model for all highly-mobile children.

Soldier Family Readiness Groups (FRG)

The ArmyFRG Web site was created primarily for the Family members and friends of Soldiers. It provides a direct connection to command information for their Soldiers' units. Upon registration, the Family member or friend is provided access to their Soldier's unit's virtual FRG site that will connect them to all of the pertinent information and resources they need to stay informed. Online tools include forums, video e-mail, telephone trees and photo galleries.

Military OneSource

Whether it's help with childcare, personal finances, emotional support during deployments, relocation information or resources needed for special circumstances, Military OneSource is there for military personnel and their Families... 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week, 365 days-a-year. The Web site is provided by the Department of Defense (DoD) at no cost to active duty, Guard and Reserve Soldiers and their Families.

MilSpouse.org

The Military Spouse Resource Center - MilSpouse.org - is designed to assist the spouses of the U.S. total force military personnel. The MilSpouse.org Web site is jointly sponsored by the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Department of Labor (DoL). The site's mission is to provide easy access to information, resources and opportunities related to education, training, and employment for military spouses. MilSpouse.org extends services to military spouses directly through the site, through partnerships with other organizations, installation family service centers and the DoL's local One-Stop Career Centers.


Military Family Network

Though not affiliated with the Department of Defense (DoD), the Military Family Network (MFN) works with community organizations, and local governments and businesses to network them together. An official team member of the Department of Defense's (DoD) America Supports You program, MFN is committed to supporting military Families and increasing their readiness and well-being by connecting them with their communities and the organizations that provide the best service and value.

National Military Family Association

The National Military Family Association (NMFA) is dedicated to educating military Families concerning their rights, benefits and services available to them and to inform them regarding the issues that affect their lives, and to promoting and protecting the interests of military Families by influencing the development and implementation of legislation and policies affecting them.

American Military Family

While assisting in providing services to members of the U.S. military and their Families, the American Military Family Inc. (AMF) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization that strives to promote a positive campaign in direct support and appreciation to all those who serve to protect the citizenry of this great country. To accomplish this mission, American Military Family Inc. offers a number of programs focused on helping to reduce the burden on those that sacrifice for all of us.

MilitaryMoney

The lifestyle of the Military Family can prove both challenging and rewarding - especially to the Family finances. The InCharge(r) Education Foundation developed the Military Money(r) magazine to provide an authoritative financial resource for military Families and help ensure the fighting readiness of America's armed forces by enhancing their financial readiness to make informed decisions in their everyday lives. The magazine and its companion website, MilitaryMoney.com, explore such personal finance issues as money management, home and Family life for military Families, education and career advice, deployment and relocation, and transitioning to the civilian world.
