Col. Dan Misigoy
Col. Dan Misigoy is a native of Miami, Florida. Upon graduating from Boston University in 1997, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps. He transferred to Logistics Corps as a Major in 2008.
As a lieutenant, Misigoy served in the 172nd Infantry Brigade (Separate) as a Medical Platoon Leader in 2-1 Infantry (Multinational Force & Observers), Company Executive Officer in C/172 Support Battalion, and Assistant Support Operations Officer in 172nd Support Battalion.
As a captain, Misigoy served in the 3rd Infantry Division as a Division Medical Plans Officer, Medical Company Commander of C/3rd Forward Support Battalion (Operation Iraqi Freedom), Battalion S-3 of 3rd Forward Support Battalion, and Brigade S-4 of 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division (Operation Iraqi Freedom).
As a major, Misigoy served as a Battalion Support Operations Officer and Battalion Executive Officer in 4th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division (Operation Enduring Freedom). He also served at the National Training Center as an Observer/Coach-Trainer, training Medical Platoons, Headquarters Troops, Forward Support Companies, and Support Operations Sections; at the U.S. Agency for International Development as a Civil Military Advisor (Interagency Fellowship); and at I Corps G-4 as a Corps Logistics Planner (Operation Enduring Freedom).
As a lieutenant colonel, he served as the Chief of Material at I Corps G-4. Misigoy commanded 225th Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade (Stryker, later IBCT), 25th Infantry Division. Following command, he served as the Senior Sustainment Trainer at the National Training Center.
Misigoy’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the NATO medal, the Multinational Force and Observer Service Medal, the Combat Medal Badge, the Expert Field Medical Badge, and the Air Assault badge.
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the National Defense Intelligence College, and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy for the National Defense University.
Misigoy is a graduate of the AMEDD Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, Support Operations Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Strategic Intelligence Course, the Defense Strategy Course, Defense Planners Course, and the National War College.
Misigoy is married and has two children.
