The US Army Garrison - Detroit Arsenal stood up a new Directorate of Operations in August 2018. This organization combines what was formerly the Directorate of Emergency Services and the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security. All functions of the two former organizations now fall under the Directorate of Operations.
The Directorate of Operations is the office of primary responsibility for coordination of Garrison Operations and direct support of the Installation Protection, Mission Assurance, Antiterrorism, and Emergency Management to include First Responder activities. The Directorate is composed of three Divisions - the Plans and Operations Division, the Fire Protection and Prevention Division, and the Protection Division.
The Protection Division plans, directs, and provides law and order, access control, and physical security operations in support of the Detroit Arsenal.
The Fire Protection and Prevention Division plans, directs, and provides fire prevention services and all hazards emergency response to include emergency medical response for the installation.
The Plans and Operations Division plans, directs, and provides coordination of Garrison support operations, Antiterrorism program support, and Emergency Management services to include management of the installation Emergency Operations Center.
All services are focused to provide a safe and secure environment for the soldiers, civilians, and families that work on or visit the installation.

The Fire Protection and Prevention Division is made up of highly skilled and professional emergency response teams capable of providing emergency medical, hazardous material, fire rescue, fire suppression and consequence management to mitigate the effects of both natural and man-made disasters.
