The Aberdeen Proving Ground Public Affairs Office serves as the primary point of contact for those who may be interested in learning more about Aberdeen Proving Ground. By providing timely and accurate information about the installation, its facilities, activities and workforce, the APG Public Affairs Office personnel are able to work closely with local, regional, and national media representatives, to "tell the APG story."
The APG PAO uses a variety of tools to share information with APG’s military, civilian and resident populations. The command information products include the APG News newspaper, this website, gate marquees and APG’s social media outlets. To have your event shared with the APG community, please call or email the public affairs office.
Community Relations is a key function of the Public Affairs Office. Arranging Army participation in local events and working with schools and other community-based organizations are only a few of the many ways in which the Public Affairs Office serves as a vital link between APG and the surrounding communities. For more information on community relations events call 443-861-6709.
Media Relations works with external media organizations to "tell APG’s story" through television and radio stations, newspapers, and social media. All media inquiries and concerns about public information should be referred to 443-861-6712.
Media Approval for Installation Event Coverage
All media must have approval and an escort prior to entering APG and covering any event. APG Police will detain unannounced media at the gate and will contact the Public Affairs Office for instruction. Therefore media interested in covering installation activities, arranging an escort or receiving information on upcoming media opportunities should contact the Public Affairs Office at 443-861-6586.
