Col. Chris C. Choi

Colonel Chris C. Choi is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his commission as an Infantry Officer from Lafayette College while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 2002.


His assignments include Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light), Company Commander of Theater Air Naval Ground Operations (TANGO) Security Force and Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Infantry Division, Operations Officer for 1st Battalion, 27th Infantry Division, Executive Officer for 2nd Stryker Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Senior Instructor at the Australian Army’s School of Infantry, Operations Officer for the Mission Command Training Program (MCTP), Commander of 2nd Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment, Chief of Inform Cell for the Maneuver Center of Excellence, C3 for the 2nd ROK/US Combined Infantry Division, and Future Operations Chief for UNC and USFK.


COL Choi graduated from the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, and he attended Senior Service College at the Korea National Defense University’s School of National Security.


His awards and decorations include one Defense Superior Service Medal, three Bronze Star Medals, the Purple Heart, seven Meritorious Service Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korea Defense Service Medal, the Overseas Ribbon, the National Defense Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Master Combat Infantryman’s Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Ranger Tab. He is joined by his wife of 18-years, Sohyun Choi, and his son Allen (12).
