(TODAY) TRICARE PHARMACY OUTAGE
22 Feb 2024 11:24
TRICARE Pharmacies are currently encountering technical issues affecting prescription services. Outpatient Installation pharmacies at Ft. Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield are temporarily unable to process prescriptions due to an enterprise-wide unscheduled outage, the duration of which is unknown. Some TRICARE network pharmacies may also experience disruptions. Only emergent, essential discharge medications with pharmacy downtime procedures will be processed during this time. Patients who have received a text message or call indicating that their medications are ready for pickup may still proceed to collect their prescriptions from the requested installation pharmacy. If you require a new prescription today, please contact the prescribing physician to have them send a new prescription to an alternate pharmacy of your choice. Due to potential impacts on TRICARE Network Pharmacies, it is advisable to contact the pharmacy to confirm their ability to process your prescription. To locate your nearest TRICARE network pharmacy, visit THE LINK BELOW: If possible, we recommend waiting for our system to come online to avoid potential third-party processing errors when filling your prescription. Please note that filling prescriptions at a non-MTF pharmacy may incur a copay/charge in most cases. We apologize for any inconvenience and are actively working to resolve this issue promptly.

Disposable wipes — used for changing diapers, personal hygiene, housecleaning, and more — cause major problems when flushed down toilets. Although many brands of disposable wipes are labeled "flushable," don't flush them! Even though some products claim to be flushable, they do not break down easily or quickly enough, clogging sewage treatment systems and causing sewage spills. Be a good neighbor – don’t use your toilet as a trash can! Help us protect you, your property, and our environment. For more information please call 912-767-2010.

FOR EVERYONE

RANITIDINE (ZANTAC) RECALL:
The FDA has announced a recall of all over-the-counter and prescription ranitidine and Zantac due to risk of contamination with NDMA, a possible human carcinogen. If you are taking these medications the FDA recommends
disposing of them properly and not buying more; for those who wish to continue treating their condition, they should consider using other approved OTC products. Patients taking prescription ranitidine should speak with their health care professional about other treatment options before stopping the medicine, as there are multiple drugs approved for the same or similar uses. To date, the FDA's testing has not found NDMA in famotidine (Pepcid), cimetidine (Tagamet), esomeprazole (Nexium), lansoprazole (Prevacid) or omeprazole (Prilosec). For more information, visit https://www.fda.gov/news-events/press-announcements/fda-requests-removal-all-ranitidine-products-zantac-market.

FOR EVERYONE

ATTENTION:  As we enter the political campaign season, our leadership at the highest   levels remind us of DoD's long standing tradition to remain apolitical. For example, Soldiers and civilians may not engage in political activity while on duty (to include telework duty), in a Federal building, or while using government equipment. Political activity includes all political statements, whether verbal, via email, social media, or tweet. Active duty Soldiers are further prohibited from partisan political activity, such as wearing a uniform at a political rally or other activities that could associate DoD with a partisan political activity. While these employees may "follow" "friend" or "like" a political party or candidate running for partisan office, they may not post links to, "share" or "re-tweet" comments or tweets from the Facebook page or twitter account of a political party or candidate     running for partisan office.     All personnel will review the attached memorandum from the Under Secretaryof the Army, along with enclosures 2-4. These documents provide additional important details and guidance regarding permissible and impermissible political activities. Links below
