Steven A. Collins, AMCOM Combined Logistics Command

Mr. Collins serves as the Deputy to the Commander for the AMCOM Combined Logistics Command (ACLC), a brigade-level organization headquartered at Fort Rucker, Alabama. As principal advisor to the commander, he leads complex logistics, maintenance, and contract operations that directly support the U.S. Army Transformation and Training Command's (T2COM) core missions. He directs a diverse team of over 300 military and Army civilian professionals organized into three Battalion equivalent commands that provides both direct, hands-on maintenance for the Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill, and contract oversight for four unique maintenance contracts for a 4,000-person contractor workforce.

Responsible for a broad portfolio including finance, logistics, and facilities management, his leadership underpins the readiness of the Army's future force. Mr. Collins's leadership enables the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence's 250,000-hour annual flight program at Fort Rucker with a fleet of 600 helicopters. His enterprise also provides critical MEDEVAC and transport support to the Maneuver Center of Excellence's Ranger and Airborne schools at Fort Benning; manages UAS training fleets at Fort Huachuca; maintains non-flyable rotary airframes at Fort Eustis; and directs the sustainment of a myriad of conventional ground equipment and advanced Air Defense Artillery systems for the Fires Center of Excellence.

Mr. Collins began his distinguished career by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1988 as a Construction Equipment Repairman. He honorably served for 20 years, rising through the enlisted and Noncommissioned Officer ranks before transitioning to the Warrant Officer Corps in 2000. He retired in 2008 as Chief Warrant Officer Three (CW3), serving as the Brigade Support Operations Officer for the 108th Air Defense Artillery Brigade. Upon his military retirement, he seamlessly transitioned into a new role as an Army Civilian, first serving as a Lead Logistics Management Specialist with the U.S. Army DEVCOM and shortly after, accepted a Supervisory LMS with the U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM), at the Detroit Arsenal, Michigan. Mr. Collins holds associate degrees from Fayetteville Technical Community College and Central Texas College. He is an Acquisition Corps Member, Advanced Certified in Life Cycle Logistics, and CES, Enterprise Leadership Course graduate.

Throughout his combined military and civilian service, Mr. Collins has held a vast array of leadership, logistics, and maintenance positions. His assignments have spanned the globe, including tours with the 20th Engineer Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, at Fort Bragg, NC; the Southern European Task Force (SETAF) in Italy, and key logistics roles under Army Materiel Command and Army Sustainment Command. He has led at every level, from Platoon Leader to Brigade SPO, and has held critical roles including Army Prepositioned Stock QA/QC Manager, Weapon System Manager and Rapid Fielding Initiative Supervisor, demonstrating expertise across the entire logistics and acquisition lifecycle.

His extensive service includes numerous deployments and real-world contingencies, from Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm and Operation Uphold Democracy to multiple tours supporting Humanitarian efforts in Honduras and Florida, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom at Kandahar, Afghanistan. His military decorations are commensurate with a long and dedicated career and include the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), the U.S. Army Commendation Medal (6th award), the Master Parachutist Badge, and the Air Assault Badge. He has also been recognized with the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service (2nd award).
