Deputy to the Garrison Commander
Mr. Frank Adam Negri
Mr. Frank “Adam” Negri is the Deputy to the Garrison Commander, US Army Garrison Okinawa. He was appointed to this position 06 Oct 2024.
Mr. Negri has more than 21 years’ experience in installation management, planning, project, and program management. Prior to assignment as Deputy to the Garrison Commander Mr. Negri served as Installation Manager for the USAG Japan, Ammunition District. He began his professional career in 2003 as a Range Officer at Camp Guernsey, Wyoming where he coordinated collective training and planning for a military range complex. In 2008, Mr. Negri accepted a position at HDR where he executed a host of environmental and facilities master planning services for DOD clients. In 2009, he accepted an opportunity with Booze Allen Hamilton to coordinate The Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex Environmental Impact Statement and Master Plan for Alaskan Command. Upon completion of that contract in 2011, Mr. Negri served in various positions as Full-time support in the Army National Guard, including assignments as Facilities Plans and Programs Manager, Deputy Construction and Facilities Management Officer, Deputy Strategic Plans and Policy Officer, and Director of Public Works of Fort Pickett, Virginia.
Mr. Negri retired from the Army National Guard as a Lieutenant Colonel in June 2021. In his last assignment he was Commander of 2-183rd Battalion, Regional Training Institute. Other noteworthy assignments include an assignment to train Police in Bayji, Iraq and an assignment to the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia as Chief of the office of Defense Cooperation, responsible for all aspects of INDOPACOM’s security cooperation and assistance programs in Mongolia.
Mr. Negri relocated to Japan from Colonial Heights, Virginia with his wife Lindsae, and two children Jackson and Zulaa. He has a Master of Arts in Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Bachelor of Science in Range Land Ecology and Watershed Management from the University of Wyoming.
