CSM Andre L. Welch

Command Sergeant Major Andre L. Welch hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He entered the United States Army on 26 June, 1996, and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC where he was trained as a 71L (Administrative Specialist).  On 10 June 1999, he re-classed to 25P (Signal Microwave Systems Operator /Maintainer).  CSM Welch is a graduate of the United States Sergeant Major Academy Class 68, Fort Bliss, TX.

CSM Welch has held many leadership positions at various duty assignments which include Garrison Command Sergeant Major, Fort George G. Meade, MD; Battalion Command Sergeant Major, 442D Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA; S3 Operations Sergeant Major, 56th Signal Battalion, Fort Sam Houston, TX; First Sergeant, HHC 516th Signal Brigade, Fort Shafter, HI; First Sergeant, 596th Signal Company, Fort Belvoir, VA; G6 NCOIC, INSCOM, Fort Belvoir, VA; Transmission Chief and Platoon Sergeant, 550th Signal Company, Kandahar, Afghanistan; Network Services Release & Deploy Team Leader, DISA, Falls Church, VA; Direct Signal Support Team (DSST) NCOIC, 581st Signal Company, Camp Buehring, Kuwait; Satellite Communications NCOIC & SATCOM shift supervisor, Bravo Company, 302nd Signal Battalion, Fort Meade, MD; Technical Control Facility NCO, 527th Military Intelligence Company, Camp Humphreys, Korea.

His deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom (10-11), Operation Iraqi Freedom (05-06), and Humanitarian Operation Relief Central America (98-99).   

CSM Welch’s Military Education includes Garrison Pre-Command Course, BDE and BN Pre-Command Courses, CSM Development Program Course, TRADOC Pre-Command Course, Sergeants Major Course, Master Resilience Course, First Sergeant Course, Battle Staff Course, Senior Leader Course, Advance Leader Course, Warrior Leader Course, Manager Development Course, Action Officer Development Course, ITIL Version 3 Foundation Course, and COMSEC Custodian Standardization Course. His Civilian Education includes a Masters of Art Degree in Leadership Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration Project Management from Columbia Southern University, and an Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Columbia Southern University.
