All Soldiers departing from military service are required to complete the Soldier For Life - Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP). This training is offered online. Soldiers may establish an SFL-TAP account up to two years prior to their separation date.

Another option is attendance at a week-long SFL-TAP course offered at Rock Island Arsenal (RIA), IL, which currently offers the course quarterly. RIA requires that the course be attended more than 90 days prior to separation. POC for requesting attendance of SFL-TAP at RIA is:
