Affected Services - COVID-19

By direction of the Department of Defense, working with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Fort McCoy is adjusting COVID face-mask requirements.

Based on this new guidance, and because Monroe County’s COVID-19 Community Level is low, indoor mask-wearing is not required for DOD personnel or visitors.

Fort McCoy will continue with common mitigation measures, including the continuation of requirements for hand washing, disinfecting common-use areas and workspaces and social distancing.  Personnel who exhibit symptoms should still contact their medical professionals before coming to work and follow the CDC recommendations if they are exposed to COVID-19, show symptoms of COVID-19 or test positive for COVID-19.

Further, on Fort McCoy, units and organizations may be required to follow their higher headquarters guidance on mask wearing if they are more stringent than the Fort McCoy requirements.

Please note that individuals may choose to wear a mask regardless of the COVID-19 Community Level. These new guidelines will remain in place until superseded by the Department of Defense.
