COL SCOTT W. HORRIGAN

COL Scott W. Horrigan received his commission from Drake University in Des Moines, IA and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in International Relations. Throughout his career he served in a variety of light infantry and Stryker units as a Platoon Leader, Rifle Company Commander, HHC Commander, Battalion S3, Brigade S3, and an Aide to the RS/USFOR-A CG.  COL Horrigan commanded 1st Battalion, 32d Infantry Regiment in the 10th Mountain Division and served as the Commander of Task Force Southeast Afghanistan. He also served on Joint Staff J-5 and most recently as an Instructor at the School of Advanced Military Studies.

His military education includes the Airborne School, Infantry Basic Officer Leader Course, Ranger School, Pathfinder Course, Maneuver Captains Career Course, Intermediate Leadership Enhancement Course, and Advanced Military Studies Program, and the Advanced Strategic Leaders Studies Program.

His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in International Relations from Drake University and Masters in Security Studies from Kansas State University.

His military awards include the Bronze Star Medal with “V” Device, the Bronze Star Medal (4 OLC), the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (1 OLC), the Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Valorous Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation (1 OLC), the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge, the Ranger Tab, the Combat Infantry Badge, the Expert Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge, and Basic Parachutist Badge.
