SCHOFIELD BARRACKS –The military community can now find crutches, braces, mobility devices and other durable medical equipment (DME) at Schofield Barracks and Tripler Army Medical Center through the Army & Air Force Exchange Service.
Soldiers, retirees and families can find medical equipment such as CPAP supplies, hearing aids, breast pump supplies, walkers, wheelchairs and more at the stores. Veterans with service-connected disabilities can shop in store as well.
The new stores accept TRICARE, Medicare and most other insurances. Cash and the MILITARY STAR card is accepted for non-insurance items.
“Having a DME shop is a great resource for the Hawaii Consolidated community,” said Exchange General Manager Michael Ryan. “These stores help to fulfill the Exchange mission of making life better for our service members, retirees and families.”
All Schofield Barracks Exchange facilities, including wellness offices, adhere to Department of Defense guidelines and Centers for Disease Control recommendations to provide a safe, sanitized and secure experience for the military community.
The Exchange is focused on providing convenient healthcare services to the military community. The DME shop openings in Hawaii are part of the Department of Defense retailer’s priority to expand these services on Army posts and Air Force bases worldwide.
The Exchange’s BE FIT program also offers better-for-you dining choices at Exchange restaurants andall the latest fitness equipment and gear in stores. Warfighters and families can also find wellness tips, products and solutions in theBE FIT section of the Exchange’s Hub page.
The Schofield Barracks DME shop is at 694 McCormack Road and is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Tripler Army Medical Center DME shop is at 1 Jarrett White Road and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
