WHEELER ARMY AIRFIELD, Hawaii -- More than 11 weeks ago, on Oct. 5, 2020, people were asked to “show some love” with the 2020 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).

The campaign runs through Jan. 15, 2021, and provides opportunities for people to voluntarily donate towards their favorite charities.

On Dec. 17, the Directorate of Human Resources, U.S. Army Garrison Hawaii held a Trivia Challenge during its “Grab-n-Go” staff holiday celebration. During the event, Theresa Delgado -- a volunteer Unit Project Officer for the CFC within the Garrison -- wanted to share with her fellow staff members a gentle reminder before Christmas that there are people out there who need help. The Trivia Challenge provided just that opportunity. Nobody had to donate to participate in the Trivia Challenge, but participants were encouraged to make a donation towards their favorite charity, particularly if they got the trivia answer wrong.

“It was fun because I got to speak to so many people about the CFC,” said Delgado. "Creating opportunities for people to give, like the Holiday Trivia Challenge, gives volunteers the chance to promote generosity in everyday life.

"It's nice to do something positive, being able to come forward and help each other out, during difficult times," added Nelson Martinez, CFC Agency Project Officer, with USAG Hawaii.
