Command Sgt. Maj. Brian P. Hawkins

Command Sgt. Maj.  Brian P. Hawkins is a native of Malvern, Arkansas, and enlisted into the Army in January 2001. He attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; graduated Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, as a combat medic; and then continued to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, as a practical nurse student.

Hawkins’ previous duty assignments include practical nurse, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, Texas; instructor-writer, 121st Combat Support Hospital, Seoul, Sout Korea; plans and operations NCO, 261st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; detachment sergeant, 274th Forward Surgical Team (Airborne), Fort Liberty, North Carolina; operations NCOIC, 28th Combat Support Hospital, Fort Liberty, North Carolina; deputy NCOIC, Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, Fort Cavazos, Texas; first sergeant, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Medical Brigade, Fort Cavazos, Texas; Troop SGM, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and chief medical NCO,  1st Calvary Division, Fort Cavazos, Texas. His overseas assignments include Seoul, South Korea, and deployments to Iraq with the 31st and 10th Combat Support Hospitals, and Syria with 274th Forward Surgical Team (ABN) for combat operations.

His military education includes all levels of the NCO Professional Development System, Army Retention Course, Basic Instructor Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, SERE-Level C Course, Special Operations Combat Medic Course, Digital Training Management System Course, Operations Security-Level II Course, Company Commanders/First Sergeant Course, Army Trauma Training Course, Field Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course, Core Faculty Development Instructor Course, Division Surgeon Course and Joint Medical Operations and Joint Medical Planning Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Trident University and he is currently enrolled with Excelsior University pursuing a Master of Science in Management.

Hawkins’ awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Unit Commendation with oak leaf cluster, Army Superior Unit Award with oak leaf cluster, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal,  Iraq Campaign Medal with three campaign stars, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal with campaign star, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon with Numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral 4. He has been awarded the Combat Action Badge, Drivers Badge, Expert Field Medical Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Netherlands Parachutist Badge, German Army Marksmanship Badge and is a recipient of the Order of Medical Military Merit.

Hawkins is married and has four children.
