Col. Heather M. Reilly, Brigade Commander

Col. Heather M. Reilly graduated from East Carolina University in May 2001 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps.
Upon completion of the Officer Basic Course at Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, in 2001, Reilly was assigned to the 52nd Aviation Company where she served as a supply support activity platoon leader. Reilly then moved to Hawaii to serve as the executive officer for the 40th Quartermaster Company, deploying to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) in January 2004 for 12 months. Upon redeployment, she served as the 25th Infantry Division G4 supply and services officer. In October 2005, Reilly attended the Captain’s Career Course at Fort Gregg-Adams with a follow-on assignment to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In August 2006, Reilly deployed to OIF for 15 months as the aerial delivery officer in the 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade. In January 2008, Reilly deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) for four months assuming command of Alpha Company, 782nd Brigade Support Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. She deployed her company again to OEF in August 2009 for 12 months. Upon redeployment, Reilly served as the 782nd Brigade Support Battalion S3.
From January-December 2011, Reilly attended the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Next, Reilly was assigned to V Corps G4 in Wiesbaden, Germany, and deployed to OEF in July 2012 for 10 months as the deputy transportation officer for United States Forces Afghanistan Headquarters in Kabul. In June 2013, Reilly was assigned to Fort Bragg where she served as the support operations officer for 264th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion and later as the 82nd Airborne Division parachute officer. In June 2015, Reilly deployed to Operation Inherent Resolve as the 82nd Airborne Division secretary general staff for nine months.
From June 2016 to June 2018, Reilly served as the legislative assistant to the Undersecretary of the Army. In June 2018, she moved to Fort. Gregg-Adams where she served as the chief, Commander’s Initiative Group for the United States Army Combined Arms Support Command. Reilly assumed command of the 262nd Quartermaster Battalion, 23rd Quartermaster Brigade, in June 2019. Upon completion of battalion command, she moved to Fort Bragg where she served as the 82nd Airborne Division G4. During this year she executed two no-notice deployments: August 2021 to Kabul, Afghanistan, in support of Operation Allies Refuge, and later to Poland for five months in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, Reinforce.
Her previous assignment was serving as the senior military assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment.
Reilly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from East Carolina University, a Master of Science degree in public administration from Central Michigan University and a Master of Science in resource strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School, National Defense University.
Reilly’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, Defense Meritorious Service Medal with oak leaf cluster, Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters and Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Senior Parachutist Badge, Parachute Rigger Badge and Combat Action Badge.
