SGM Hernandez served as the Defense Programs Support Activity J1 Senior Enlisted Advisor/Noncommissioned Officer-in-Charge and Battalion Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Human Resources Activity, US Army Field Support Center. He served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Assistant Deputy, Military Personnel Policy, Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs.
At his last assignment he served as the Joint Support Branch (JSB) Senior Enlisted Leader for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The JSB provides mandatory training management, personnel administration, strength management, and quality-of-life programs to military personnel assigned to DISA and the Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN).
SGM Hernandez’ military schools include: Basic Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Security Cooperation Management-Executive Course, Anti-terrorism Officer Basic Course, Master Leaders Course, Master Fitness Trainer Course and the Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy (Equivalent to the Sergeants Major Course).
SGM Hernandez’ awards include: Defense Meritorious Service Medal w/ 2OLC, Meritorious Service Medal w/ 1OLC, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/ 1OLC, Joint Service Achievement Medal w/ 1 Silver OLC, Army Achievement Medal w/ 1 Silver OLC. He is a recipient of the Adjutant General’s Corps Benjamin Harrison Medal for Excellence.
