Command Sgt. Maj. Tcherry Samedy

Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Tcherry Samedy is from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Motor Transport Operator (88M) and completed both basic and advanced individual training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
CSM Samedy’s assignments include Bravo Company 123rd main support battalion, 1st Armored Infantry Division, Dexheim, Germany; Alpha Company 801st Main Support Battalion, Alpha Company, 426th Brigade Support Battalion, Foxtrot 801st Forward Support Company (FSC), 74th Composite Truck Company, 541st Truck Company, and Headquarters and Headquarters Company 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; the White House Transportation Agency (WHTA), Washington D.C.; Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), Belgium; NATO Headquarters Allied Joint Force Command (JFC), Naples, Italy; the 598th Transportation Brigade, Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC), and the 835th Transportation Battalion, Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC). He has held various leadership positions as a team leader, squad leader, platoon Sergeant, operations Sergeant and First Sergeant.
CSM Samedy was deployed to Camp Bondsteel, as a Heavy Wheeled Vehicle Driver in support of Operation Joint Guardian; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as a French interpreter in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with Joint Task Force (JTF) 160th; Mosul and Kirkuk, Iraq respectively as a Dispatcher and Squad Leader/Convoy Commander in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Port-au-Prince, Haiti as a French and Haitian Creole interpreter in support of Operation United Response; Khost Province, Afghanistan as a Platoon Sergeant in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; and Liberia.
CSM Samedy’s military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System from the Warrior Leader Course to the Sergeants Major Course; the Air Assault School; Master Driver Trainer Course; and Master Fitness Course. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Filmmaking and Video Production from the Arts Institute of Washington.
