Denim Day Observance
ATEC’s Denim Day Observance will be held to show support for survivors of sexual assault and feature Mr. Glenn Hull from the 1 in 6 organization. He will share his testimony and the male perspective of sexual assault.

Harold Glen Hull was born 2 1/2 months premature as a twin on February 15, 1954. His twin sister passed within three hours of birth. Harold’s mother never bonded or loved him. He was emotionally, mentally and physically abused daily by his mother from birth until he was 11 years old. The abuse would escalate to rapes and sexual abuse in his mother’s home. His father would abandon the family when he was 5 years old.
He was removed from his mother’s home and placed into the Catholic Briscoe’s Boys Home in Washington State. The physical and sexual abuse continued until he left the Boys Home at 16 years old.
Harold joined the US Army at the age of 18 years old. He initially joined the military to go into combat to die. Harold’s pain and emotions were too great for him to handle, and he thought that death was the answer to get rid of the pain. In the military Harold found a home among his soldier family and was able to received the help that he needed to heal from his terrible childhood. Harold would rise through the military ranks to reach the highest enlisted rank of Command Sergeant Major. He served 30 years in the military where he was able to heal and grow as an individual. He is the first person in his family to complete HS and several years of college.
Today Harold is a motivational speaker, writer and advocate for adult survivors and children of emotional, physical and sexual abuse. He also mentors and assists survivors of all forms of child abuse. Harold manages two private Facebook groups (Quest for Survival and Healing Our Wounds) that focuses on mentoring, assisting and encouraging other adult survivors of abuse. Giving survivors a platform that is safe and secure to heal and grow. Harold has a Facebook page Quest for Survival where he openly shares his experiences from child abuse.

Wear denim to show your support for survivors and foster an environment of prevention!
