The Fairbanks Rescue Mission operates the only overnight men's emergency shelter and women's emergency shelter in the Interior of Alaska. They provide emergency housing, food, clothing, a residential recovery and relapse prevention program, job program, veteran's program, case management, transition support, bible studies and chapel services.

The Red Cross provides temporary relief for disaster victims of natural or other disasters. They can provide clothing, food and temporary shelter services. They provide training on water safety, First Aid, CPR and babysitting classes.
