Command Sergeant Major Toese Tia Jr is a native of American Samoa. His Military career began at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri on 21 September 1989. CSM Tia has served in a variety of positions and prior to USAG-Stuttgart, served as the United States Army Garrison Command Sergeant Major, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
CSM Tia has served in every enlisted leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major. He has numerous combat tours in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. CSM Tia led units in combat as a First Sergeant in the Army’s 1st SBCT (3-2 SBCT) from 2003-2004 and 2006-2007. He served as the Multi-National Corps-Iraq C9 Sergeant Major during his third deployment to Iraq in 2009-2010. He is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management from Excelsior College.
