LTC Christian Durham
Lieutenant Colonel Christian Durham was commissioned as an Infantry Officer following his graduation from the University of North Georgia in 2001. Following the Infantry Officers’ Basic Course, he was assigned to 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Lewis, WA, where he served as a Stryker Platoon Leader, Rifle Company Executive Officer, and Headquarters and Headquarters Company Executive Officer in 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment. During this assignment, LTC Durham deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from November 2003 to October 2004.
Following the Infantry Captain’s Career Course, LTC Durham arrived at Fort Polk, LA in January 2006, where he was assigned to Task Force III, Operations Group, Joint Readiness Training Center. He served as a Scout Platoon Observer/Controller. In March 2008, he transitioned to the Operations Group Headquarters to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer. LTC Durham arrived at Fort Riley, KS in August 2008, where he served as the Battalion Assistant Operations Officer before assuming command of B Company, 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. LTC Durham deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from August 2009 to May 2010.
In January 2011, LTC Durham was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 351st Infantry, Camp Shelby, MS, where he served as the Battalion Operations Officer until June. He then served as the 158th Infantry Brigade Executive Officer from June 2011 to June 2012. LTC Durham then transitioned to serve as the Brigade Operations Officer from June 2012 to June 2013. From there, LTC Durham attended the Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base, AL from June 2013 to June 2014, where he earned his Master’s Degree. LTC Durham reported to Fort Hood, TX in July 2014, where he was assigned as the Battalion Operations Officer of 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. He later served as the Brigade Executive Officer from September 2014 to June 2016. LTC Durham deployed as part of the first rotational Armor Brigade Combat Team to the Republic of South Korea from June 2015 to March 2016. In July 2016, LTC Durham reported to U.S. Strategic Command, where he trained and certified as a Nuclear Strike Advisor. In this role, he advised U.S. senior leaders on nuclear strike options within the Nuclear Decision Handbook, commonly known as the Nuclear Football. LTC Durham then served as a Joint Mission Training Officer, where he was the senior trainer to General and Flag Officers on nuclear strike options. In this role, LTC Durham also served as an air crewman aboard the USSTRATCOM Airborne Command Post. Prior to assuming command, LTC Durham served as the Deputy Executive Officer to the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command. While serving at USSTRATCOM, LTC Durham attended the Joint and Combined Warfighting School.

Battalion Command Sergeant Major
Command Sergeant Major Ott born and raised in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, enlisted as an Infantryman in the United States Army on 21 August 1997 and completed One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Fort Benning, Georgia. During his 21 years of military service Command Sergeant Major Ott held numerous leadership positions from team leader to Operations Sergeant Major.
His previous assignments include: 2/11 Armored Calvary Regiment, Fort Irwin, CA; 1-26 IN Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany; Non-Commissioned Officer Academy, Fort Dix, NJ; 1-64 AR Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA; 1-30th IN Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA; 1-13th IN Battalion, Fort Jackson, SC; and U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Stewart, GA.
Command Sergeant Major Ott has completed all levels of NOCES from the Primary Leadership Development Course through the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy.
Command Sergeant Major Ott’s awards and decorations include: Bronze Star Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Service Medal (2nd Award), Army Commendation Medal w/ V device, Army Commendation Medal (5th Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), NATO Medal (2nd Award), Army Service Ribbon, and Meritorious Unit Citation. Command Sergeant Major Ott has also earned the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, German Proficiency Badge, and is a member of the Infantry Order of Saint Maurice.
