LTC Tanya M. Leonard

 

 

Lieutenant Colonel Tanya M. Leonard assumed command of Army Field Support Battalion-Stewart, June 25, 2025, Fort Stewart, Georgia.  She previously served as the J4 (Logistics), chief of Operations and & Exercises for Special Operations Command Pacific, Camp Smith, Hawaii. LTC Leonard enlisted into the Army Reserve in 2003 as a Military Police. She was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps in 2007 through the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps. 

 

Other assignments include Executive Officer for the Commanding General of the 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Commander’s Initiative Group Chief, 8th Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Shafter, Hawaii; Support Operations Officer, 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; Battalion Executive Officer, Army Field Support Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas, Supply & Services Officer, Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss, Texas; Logistics Application Officer, Joint Modernization Command, Fort Bliss, Texas; Commander, 579th Forward Support Company, Camp Casey, South Korea; and she served as the G9 Operations Officer, 8th Army, Yongsan, Korea.

 

LTC Leonard has deployed in support of numerous operations to include Operation Inherent Resolve, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. Her awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (with five Oak Leaf Clusters), and the Army Commendation Medal (with three Oak Leaf Clusters). She also has various unit, service and campaign awards, and the Air Assault Badge.

 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in administration from Central Michigan University.

Senior Enlisted Advisor

MSG Justin Deal

 

Master Sergeant Justin Deal assumed responsibility of the Army Field Support Battalion-Stewart on Sep.16,2024.

 

 He enlisted in the U.S. Army Jan. 15, 2003, as a Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic (63B). He completed Basic Combat Training and Advance Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

 

MSG Deal’s assignments include LT Wheel Vehicle Mechanic, Schofield Barracks, HI; Shop Foreman, Motor Sergeant, Fort Cavazos, TX; Platoon Sergeant, Maintenance Control Sergeant, fort Liberty, NC; Senior Drill Sergeant, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Maintenance operations NCO, 1SG Fox FSC, 1SG NCOA, Fort drum, NY; Battalion Operations NCOIC, Schofield Barracks.

 

MSG Deal military and civilian education include Warrior Leader Course, advance Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Drill Sergeant Course, Master Fitness Trainer, Master Resilience Trainer. MSG Deal is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Health Science through American Military University.

 

MSG Deal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2nd award), Army Commendation Medal (8th award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd award) Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), Iraqi Campaign Medal (4 stars), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned officer Professional Development Ribbon (3rd award), Army Service Ribbon, and an Overseas Service Ribbon (5th award). He also wears a Combat Action Badge, U.S. Army Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Drill Sergeant Badge.
